Description | Celebrate the history and the heroes of our nation with the Lincoln Train Museum. Journey through the history of our nation from the days of our founding fathers through 911 with President Lincoln! The museum displays a large train collection including operating layouts and dioramas featuring the Lincoln Funeral Special. Museum dioramas and artifacts present historical moments of the great nation. We remember our native lands, our founding fathers and other great Americans, the Wild West with its struggles, heroes and horses as well as our sports figures and Hollywood stars. We recall the battles and wars our nation has endured and pay tribute to our heroes, the soldiers, veterans, law enforcement and EMS of our country. Experience the new Lincoln Train Ride where you ride the simulated Lincoln funeral train car, The United States, with President Lincoln and his son Willy as their remains are returned to their home in Springfield Illinois. Shop our new Station Master's Gift Shop offering an extensive array of historical as well as railroad memorabilia and souvenirs. The museum offers the ideal opportunity for students and families to learn and be inspired by our nation's history.
